About the Role

Quality isn't a phase at the end of our sprints — it runs in parallel with development from day one. As a QA Automation Engineer, you'll build and maintain automated test suites for client applications, design test strategies for new features before they're built, and act as the last line of defense before production releases.

You'll work closely with engineers and project managers across two to three concurrent client engagements, adapting your testing approach to each product's risk profile — from consumer retail apps to compliance-sensitive healthcare platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automated test suites (unit, integration, and end-to-end) using tools like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
  • Build and maintain API test coverage using tools such as Postman/Newman or custom test harnesses
  • Define test plans and acceptance criteria collaboratively with engineers during sprint planning
  • Run manual exploratory testing for high-risk or newly-shipped features
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to gate deployments
  • Track and report defects with clear reproduction steps, working directly with engineers to resolution
  • Conduct performance and load testing for client applications ahead of major launches

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in a QA or test automation role on production software
  • Hands-on experience with at least one modern automation framework (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript or Python for writing test scripts
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs and understanding of HTTP fundamentals
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins) for integrating automated tests
  • Strong written communication for defect reports and test documentation, with solid overlap across APAC and partner time zones

Nice to Have

  • Experience with performance/load testing tools such as k6 or JMeter
  • Exposure to mobile test automation (Appium or platform-native tools)
  • Background in regulated industries where test documentation and traceability matter (healthcare, finance, government)
